Shlomo Cohen is a partner in the Tel Aviv office of Naschitz Brandes Amir, Head of the firm’s Mediation Practice, and a member of the Executive Committee. He is the founding and former senior partner of Shlomo Cohen & Co., prior to its merger with Naschitz Brandes Amir. Widely regarded as one of Israel’s leading mediators, Shlomo is consistently ranked among the country’s top ten by Dun’s 100.
With decades of experience in dispute resolution, Shlomo serves as a mediator in high-stakes civil and commercial disputes, including matters involving tort, employment, real estate, administrative law, and kibbutzim & cooperative societies law. He has particular expertise in mediating corporate and partnership dissolutions, as well as in resolving complex multi-party disputes.
With a proven track record and deep expertise, Shlomo conducts mediations in matters brought before all levels of the Israeli judiciary, including the Supreme Court, District Courts, and Magistrate Courts. He is frequently entrusted with high-profile mediations referred directly by Israel’s top law firms. Shlomo’s caseload includes disputes involving some of the country’s largest corporations—among them government-owned companies, major construction firms, and leading banks. He also handles mediation cases involving the State of Israel and various public authorities, including municipalities, local councils, and the Israel Land Authority.
Having served for many years as a member of both the National Mediation Committee and the Haifa District Committee of the Israeli Bar Association, Shlomo was appointed Chair of the National Mediation Committee in 2025.
In addition to his work as a senior mediator, Shlomo specializes in kibbutzim & cooperative societies law and leads legal and strategic transformation initiatives in the agricultural sector, settlement communities, and regional councils.
Academic and Professional Involvement in Mediation
Shlomo is deeply engaged in advancing the practice of mediation through teaching, writing, and public speaking. He regularly lectures on interest-based mediation as part of the Conflict Resolution course and clinical program for undergraduate students at the University of Haifa’s School of Law.
For the past several years, he has served as a faculty member in the advanced business mediation course at the Gome-Gevim Institute, a biannual program focused on interest-based commercial mediation. He also lectures in mediation certification programs at Tel Aviv University and the Institute of Legal Arts.
Shlomo is frequently invited to speak on mediation-related topics at leading Israeli law firms and at events organized by the Israel Bar Association. He has delivered guest lectures at Bar-Ilan University, the University of Haifa, and at national leadership conferences hosted by the Kibbutzim Movement.
As a regular contributor to the professional journal "See Under: Mediation", Shlomo has authored three articles featured in the publication.
Shlomo has also organized and spoken at academic conferences, including “The State as a Party to Mediation” at Tel Aviv University and “Mediation in Copyright Disputes” at the University of Haifa.
Since 1993, Shlomo has led and facilitated mediation training programs, including specialized courses for senior officials of the Menashe Regional Council.

- Successfully mediated a landmark class action against a major digital retailer before the Tel Aviv District Court involving more than NIS 12 billion in transactions and allegations of systemic digital consumer deception, resulting in a court-approved settlement that set a significant precedent in digital consumer protection.
- Successfully mediated a precedent-setting class action lawsuit representing approximately 230,000 consumers against a regional utility company, with claims estimated in the hundreds of millions of shekels, before the Jerusalem District Court. The case addressed monopolistic service practices and regulatory non-compliance, resulting in a comprehensive settlement that included systemic improvements to prevent future service disruptions and enhance customer service standards. The settlement was ultimately upheld by the Supreme Court following successful appellate proceedings.
- Successfully mediated two consolidated class action lawsuits against a major telecommunications company before the Tel Aviv District Court, involving claims totaling NIS 250 million stemming from widespread network disruptions during infrastructure upgrades, allegedly causing significant harm to private and business customers. The mediation resulted in a comprehensive settlement that received binding court approval and ensured adequate compensation for affected consumers.
- Successfully mediated a complex estate dispute involving the distribution of a high-net-worth individual's estate, valued at approximately NIS 150 million. The matter involved intricate asset division among numerous heirs, including real estate, securities, and personal property, while also addressing claims by the deceased's common-law partner and navigating complex tax implications. The mediation resulted in a comprehensive settlement that preserved family relationships and optimized outcomes for all parties.
- Successfully mediated a major real estate partnership dispute involving 14 landowners and a leading construction company before the Tel Aviv District Court. The NIS 112 million claim centered on complex contractual interpretation issues relating to profit-sharing arrangements in a 336-unit residential development project. The matter was resolved through a court-approved settlement, supported by specialized financial expertise, that satisfied the interests of all parties.
- Successfully mediated a complex commercial litigation between a major construction company and leading real estate development groups involving a NIS 100 million claim and a NIS 65 million counterclaim. The dispute included parallel insolvency proceedings before both the Tel Aviv District Court and the Liquidation Court. The mediation led to a global settlement approved by all parties and the Official Receiver.
- Successfully mediated a multi-party environmental litigation involving three separate lawsuits with combined claims estimated at NIS 90 million. The matter involved allegations of illegal waste dumping that posed risks to environmental safety and public interests. Shlomo coordinated proceedings among 10 parties across multiple courts, ultimately achieving a court-approved settlement that addressed environmental remediation and financial compensation for all affected parties.
- Successfully mediated a multi-jurisdictional technology dispute between American software companies involving cross-claims exceeding NIS 20 million in both Israeli District Courts and U.S. Federal Court. The case involved complex issues of intellectual property, commercial torts, privacy violations, and trade secret misappropriation. The mediation resulted in a confidential, comprehensive settlement that included monetary compensation and a framework for continued commercial collaboration.
