On 3 January 2022, the Israeli privacy protection authority ('PPA') issued a draft opinion for public consultation, proposing its interpretation of the requirements under Regulation 3 of the Privacy Protection (Transfer of Data to Databases Abroad) Regulations, 5671-2001 ('the Transfer Regulations') regarding onwards data transfer. In response to this development, partner and chair of IT & Data Protection, Dalit Ben-Israel and senior associate Efrat Artzi wrote an article discussing the implications of the PPA's proposed interpretation of the Transfer Regulations. The authors provide insights into the key changes proposed by the PPA and their implications on the data transfer process.
